Quantities or a priced estimate?
A quantity takeoff answers how much work is shown in the accepted drawings. A construction cost estimate applies the agreed cost coverage to that scope. Ordering the service you need helps avoid paying for a package that misses your actual bid requirements.
Request a takeoff when you have your own pricing
You may already know your labor rates, supplier pricing or subcontractor costs and need a reviewed quantity schedule. Request the specific items, trades and areas, with highlighted drawings showing the included scope.
Request an estimate when you also need pricing support
A priced estimate adds the agreed material, labor or other cost coverage. Your quote should define the pricing scope and basis, rather than treating a takeoff total as a complete installed cost.
Compare the scope before comparing totals
Check drawing revisions, included buildings and trades, measurement units, opening deductions, waste allowances, alternates and exclusions. Two schedules that use different boundaries can both add correctly and still describe different jobs.
The service fee is a separate amount
REVO quotes a fee for the agreed takeoff or estimating service. That fee is separate from the estimated cost to construct the project. Accept the service scope and delivery date before paid work begins.
What to ask before accepting a quote
A clear agreement makes the resulting deliverable easier to review and use.
- Which drawings and revisions are included?
- Which items, trades, buildings and alternates are covered?
- Are quantities, pricing or both included?
- What assumptions remain unresolved?
- What deliverables and delivery date are agreed?
